Just found out this paper is among the15 most-cited papers since 2010 in GCB Bioenergy!
I'm so excited that this paper is finally out. It points out a major problem in invasive species regulation -- namely that there usually are no regulations relating to the intentional release of plants that can impact natural areas. Noxious weed laws tend only to protect agricultural systems, but we need greater protection for natural areas as well. In the paper, we outline several policy improvements that would achieve this goal. I'm really thrilled to have had the chance to collaborate with this group of people. It was particularly interesting and informative to have the perspectives of James McCubbins, an attorney, and Bryan Endres, a law professor. We scientists should be more comfortable with legal issues, so that our work can better inform policy. More to come from this group! The paper will be appear in print in BioScience's February issue. The full citation can be found on my CV page. |
